GARY
CARSON Gary Carson was
raised in central and south Texas, spent most of his adult life in Baton Rouge,
Chicago, San Francisco, Mississippi, and various spots in central, south, and
east Texas. He has a BS in computer science and statistics from LSU, an MS in
quantitative business analysis from LSU, and an MS in industrial engineering
from Northwestern University. He finished the coursework for a PhD in criminal
justice at Sam Houston State University. He taught in the business schools of
Loyola (Chicago) and Sam Houston State University, held adjunct positions at
LSU, Univeristy of Illinois (Chicago), City College of Chicago, and
Embry-Riddle University.
Carson has taught statistics, criminology,
financial accounting, math, and data processing courses. He was project manager
of management sciences division of information systems at Northern Trust
Company (Chicago) and senior systems and operations planner in the investment
securities division of Bank of America (San Francisco).
He is the author
of
The Complete Book of Hold 'em Poker (2001),
The Complete Book of Casino Poker, and scores of magazine
and newsletter articles on a wide variety of subjects. His gambling articles
have appeared in Card Player, Poker Digest, American Turf
Monthly, Racing Star Digest, Pokermagazine.com, PokerPages.com, and
GamingLinks.com.
