LISA
DeVITA A budding poker
player and storyteller, Lisa DeVita has been a freelance writer for the past
four years. She started out as a contract resume writer and eventually moved
into creative non-fiction. Lisa's work has been published in both print and
web-based environments and covers a variety of subject matter including travel,
entertainment and poker.
Lisa gained access into the magazine
publishing industry after landing an internship with TV Week Magazine.
She continues writing articles and cover stories for TV Week on a
freelance basis. An avid comic book collector and movie lover, Lisa has several
projects in the works including a graphic novel and a horror feature film
script. Lisa has experience both on and off camera, as she was the Host of the
daily WSOP on-line video segments for PokerListings.com and she currently works
as a Researcher for Insight Film Studios in Vancouver, BC.
Lisa's
passion for writing became serious when she won a scholarship to attend
university through a writing competition. Lisa holds a Bachelor of Arts degree
in English along with a Certificate of Recommendation in Writing for Film and
Television.
Comics, magazines, screenplays and blogs aren't the only
forms of written media Lisa enjoys. You can also find her as a character in the
fictitious novel entitled Code Red at the Supermall by Eric Wilson,
Lisa's favorite novelist as a child whom she credits as the inspiration behind
her dream of being a writer.
